The Story Behind Abundant Bag Co.

Most brand stories begin with a spark of inspiration. Abundant Bag Co. did not.

It started in my laundry—standing between two kids, a mountain of towels, and yet another bag ruined by leaking drink bottles and open sunscreen tubes.

From Luxury Yachts to Adelaide Beach Days

Before creating Abundant Bag Co., I spent years working as a yacht stewardess. My days were spent folding luxury towels, polishing champagne glasses, and making holidays look effortless for guests. I loved the sunshine and the travel, but the constant pursuit of perfection was exhausting.

Fast forward to life in Adelaide with two young children, and my days shifted to school runs, beach trips, errands, and all the "beautiful chaos" in between. I quickly realized I couldn't find a practical tote bag that could actually keep up with my new reality.

Everything on the market either looked stylish but broke quickly, or lasted forever but looked like a gym bag. I wanted a beautiful beach tote that was as functional as it was fashionable.

The Spark: "I Need a Bag I Can Throw in the Wash"

One sandy afternoon, I came home from the beach, shook out my “nice” bag, and watched half the shoreline fall onto the laundry floor. Frustrated, I said out loud:

“I need a bag I can throw in the wash and not care.”

That was the moment Abundant Bag Co. truly began. I started sketching, researching durable materials, and asking real mums what they actually needed. I didn't want to chase fast-fashion trends; I wanted to solve the everyday problems of sunscreen spills, soggy swimmers, and sandy towels.

Designing the Perfect Machine-Washable Tote

The journey from concept to the first sample wasn't easy. Fabrics felt wrong and stitching didn't hold. But every failure clarified what mattered most for our Carry-All Totes:

• Bold, joyful stripes that stand out in a crowd.

• Soft terry towelling for a nostalgic, high-end feel.

• Generous space for everything from groceries to beach gear.

• 100% Machine Washable: Because life is messy, and your bag shouldn't be.

Why the name “Abundant”?

Late one night, I realized that abundance isn’t about having more, it’s about appreciating what we already carry.

Abundant Bag Co. is about celebrating the fullness of everyday life: the love, the colour, the chaos, and the community. We wanted to create a tote big enough, strong enough, and joyful enough to hold it all.

Seeing women across Australia use their Carry-All Totes for school drop-offs, beach adventures, and travel days feels surreal. Every time a customer tells me, "Finally- a machine-washable bag," it brings me back to that moment in my laundry room.

Our mission remains the same: To design bold, practical bags for women who carry it all all and still choose colour, joy, and confidence every day.
